Frequently Asked Questions
1. How is an Exercise Physiologist different from a Personal Trainer or Physiotherapist?
Exercise Physiologists specialise in using evidence-based exercise to manage injuries and chronic conditions. Unlike Personal Trainers, who focus on general fitness and performance, Exercise Physiologist's provide clinical exercise interventions tailored to medical needs. While Physiotherapists primarily treat acute injuries with hands-on therapy, Exercise Physiologist's focus on long-term recovery, rehabilitation, and chronic disease management through movement and exercise.
2. Do I need a referral to see an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?
No, you don’t need a referral to book a session. However, a referral may be required if you claim through Medicare or DVA. Private Health may not require a referral.
3. Do you only train women?
While my focus is on women’s health, I also work with veterans, military families, and individuals needing injury rehabilitation or chronic disease management.
4. Do you work with beginners or people who haven’t exercised before?
Absolutely! I tailor programs to suit all fitness levels, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every client.
5. Can you help with weight loss or general fitness goals?
Yes! While I specialise in clinical exercise, I also offer personal training services to help clients improve strength, fitness, and overall well-being.
6. Do you offer online sessions or home programs?
Yes! I offer online coaching and personalised home exercise programs if you prefer to train from home.
7. Do you accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) clients?
Yes! I support veterans and military families, helping them regain strength, manage injuries, and improve overall well-being. If you have an eligible referral from your GP, sessions are fully covered.
8. Can I claim sessions through Medicare or private health insurance?
Yes, Medicare rebates are available with a referral under the Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM). Private health rebates depend on your provider—check with them to confirm your coverage.
9. How much do sessions cost?
Pricing varies based on the service. Please feel free to contact me for details on individual sessions, packages, and private health rebates.
10. Do I have to pay for a gym membership?
For Medicare & DVA referrals, gym access is fully covered. Private clients have flexible options, and in some cases, my business may cover gym fees, depending on the circumstances. T&Cs apply.
